Banish the Boring Baskets

Let's all be honest for a minute, folks:
Up until recently we all thought wicker and rattan baskets were a little granny, am I right? It turns out, there are a lot of fun ways to incorporate spiffed-up baskets in your home without the results screaming 'geriatric'.

I found a bargain-priced basket at a thrift store recently and got to thinking that it deserved some kind of cool treatment. At 50¢, the basket wasn't a major investment.
So, to the internet I went to research basket transformation projects!
(1 / 2 / 3 / 4)
(1 / 2 / 3)

Inexpensive baskets can be found at your local thrift stores or Homegoods, but I also rounded up several great baskets from the internet that could be transformed with a little ingenuity:
(1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7)

Which treatment did I choose for my 50¢ basket?
Check back tomorrow to find out!

Do you plan on adding baskets--and customizing a few--to your home soon?

  1. Love the big polka dots and the dipped ones. Can't wait to see how yours turned out!

  2. I love the painted bottoms - even just white is such a fun update!

  3. I guess I'm old school. I like baskets in their natural state - especially when I'm looking to add some rough texture.

  4. I love the polka dot one, sooo cool. Easy diy too.

  5. haha i love how you put baskets and geriatric together in the same post. and yes clearly they are not boring anymore and will not make my house look like my grandma's

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
