First Impressions

(Lulu DK's entrance via her blog, Trail of Inspiration)

As the saying goes, "you never have a second chance to make a first impression," and I think this wisdom is especially applicable to the home. Sure, not all of us are graced with an expansive marble entryway or a staircase worthy of Scarlett O'Hara. Some of us just have a front door, be it an apartment door or otherwise, that enters directly into our living room.

Rita Konig, former Domino and T Magazine blog contributor, recently touched on this subject, too. Great minds, I tell you...

Scarlett-worthy foyers are the stuff of dreams for some of us, myself included. Here's just a few grand entrances I've pulled from the ol' style files, as they wait for my future home.

The foyer, entrance way, front hall, whatever you call it, is the first impression visitors have to your home.
How does yours stack up?

  1. Gorgeous entries - how does mine stack up? Ahh, that would be non-existant. Seriously - walk in the front door and bam there is the staircase & you're standing in the living room!! Ugh....

  2. Don't worry, Fran, about the state of your foyer. There's a reason why I didn't include a picture of mine here!
