My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day unlike most. Instead of chocolates, roses or greeting cards, we brought home a pretty, soft velvet tufted sofa for our living room.
...for $75! For less than the price of a fancy dinner!
The sloping arm, curved front and and simple legs caught my eye instantly.
I spotted this 3-person sofa at my favorite thrift store on Tuesday, snapped some pictures of it on my cell phone, and talked myself out of buying it on the spot because I worried Adam would hate it. Au contraire! He loved it. We spent yesterday evening (Valentine's Day) picking it up from the thrift store.
Doesn't it look right at home? I never, ever, ever, ever thought I'd go for a curvy, feminine sofa like this one but I love it. I mean, how could I not be on the velvet-tuft bandwagon?

Eventually, I'll change the mauve upholstery for another color (probably still velvet), but for now the color is the perfect reminder of how we spent out latest Valentine's Day.

It is the stuff dreams are made of!! I love it!! I passed up a similarly proportioned sofa at the flea market in a gold velvet (not as pretty as yours) and still regret it to this day. So glad you got yours - it truly is amazing. Congrats! So much better than flowers and chocolates!!
I have still not visited IMPACT thrift and I can see that I'm missing out.
