Make Room for Red, White and Blue

The fourth of July is right around the corner and, as a girl originally from New England now residing outside Philadelphia, the all-American color combination of red, white and blue are really speaking to me. I've rounded up some of my favorite decor that would add a little spirit to any setting.

Gone Paintin'

Yep, that's our den and, yep, that's a dark color...this one to be exact. It's Gentleman's Gray by Benjamin Moore and both Adam and I are thrilled with the look even at the halfway point. So, that being said, give me a day or two to finish all of the painting and I'll have something to share again!

When Vintage Illustrations and Watercolors Meet...

I'm by no means an artist; but when I saw the opportunity to enhance illustrations from a secondhand book with a wash of watercolors, I dusted off my artistic skills and put them to work creating another piece of art for the living room.

If you've paid attention to this blog for any length of time, you know I have an unabashed love for red. 

Why not carry that love for red to the coat hangers in my coat closet?

Who says the hangers in our home can't be both beautiful and delicious-looking?

I chose Montana Gold spray paint in "Blood Orange" for a vibrant coating reminiscent of M&Ms, and the truth is: I'm thinking I'll never again settle for coat hangers without a candy-colored shell.

What color should I lacquer the hangers in my closet? And in Adam's?

Rah-Rah for Red

I love the color red and can't apologize for the generous doses of it around my home.

While some champion the use of fuschia or mint or yellow, I am the biggest cheerleader for the color red.

My apartment is one extensive cheer in support for this bright and peppy tone, so I don't have to search far to find a delightful note of red in every room.
