A Leontine Linens Look for Less

An old-fashioned prep at heart, I've been crazy about having custom monogrammed shams made for our bed ever since Adam and I became engaged last year. Well, as many of you probably know, custom monograms are very expensive, especially if you go the Leontine Linens route.

Leontine Linens, the couture linen company based in New Orleans, has single-handedly revived the monogrammed look. The quality craftsmanship of a Leontine Linen piece may justify the price, but not to me, the newlywed looking to sock aside some money for a home.

Are my priorities right?
A home instead of a custom monogrammed bed sham?
You decide.

They sure are pretty, aren't they? Instead of forgoing a house fund, I managed to find a nice alternative for a lot less on, where else, Ebay. I present the new-to-me "Mr. & Mrs." red embroidered pillowcases with scalloped edges.
Aren't they fab?
So what if they're not custom. I already have the custom knit pillow that Mom made us.

These vintage "Mr. and Mrs" shams were seemingly brand new, and were all of $16!
Looks like I can have the Leontine Linens look and a house (someday, at least).

  2. Ashley, you're definitely doing the right thing. And I love the charming and unique character those shams give to your bed! They fit in perfectly with your heart art and other pillows. Too cute! I found some nice dark gray linen pillowcases with a big "M" monogrammed on them (our last name starts with M)at an estate sale for $8. I love them even if they don't have our entire monogram on them.
