Final Shots of My Guest Bedroom

Tomorrow I promise I'll talk about something besides my guest bedroom, but today I've got a few more shots of the room before I change subjects. I feel an odd sense of pride about the current state of this room because it has a lot of DIYs in it that work together to create a welcoming spot for family and other visitors.

You saw my new tortoiseshell bedside tables yesterday, and you may recall the numerous projects I tackled with Mom during her recent visit including my tasseled throw pillows, ribboned curtain panels, gilded vintage mirror, and ticking stripe skirted table. All of these projects, combined with various thrifted finds, took time to come to fruition in the guest room.
I'm not a patient person by nature, but in this particular room I tried not to rush.
I hope the effects of my patience are evident.
Oh, and one more thing: while dismantling the previous built-in shelving in the room, I rediscovered a series of 5 books that held a special spot in my 7-year-old heart.
What can I say, I was a precocious child.
Hope you've liked the 3-day focus on my new-and-improved guest bedroom!
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  4. Your bedroom really reflects your love for vintage. I think that you were successful in making it look that way. I like the simplicity of your bed as it wouldn’t overpower the decors and other furniture by your bedside.
